As a volunteer and as an elected public official, Kim Martusewicz has been a proactive community member of his native Jefferson County for virtually his entire adult life. Professionally, he has also taken an active role in a number of organizations.

JEFFERSON COMMUNITY COLLEGE - First Alumnus Appointed by the Governor as Trustee (Member for 18 years) 4 of which as Chairman of the Board. Currently an Adjunct Professor in the Criminal Justice Curriculum (2003-Present).

CHURCH - Member, Trustee and former Elder of the Theresa Presbyterian Church.

HUDSON RIVER-BLACK RIVER REGULATING DISTRICT - Former Governor-Appointed member of this Board which regulates water policies in the Hudson River and Black River watersheds.

WPBS-TV- Former member of the Board of Trustees of WNPE/WNPI.

JEFFERSON COUNTY COMMUNITY SERVICES BOARD - Former Member and Vice Chairman of this board which is responsible for the oversight and supervision of the Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Alcohol/Substance Abuse Programs in Jefferson County.

NEIGHBORS OF WATERTOWN (NOW) - Former Board Member and President of this not-for-profit corporation dedicated to the restoration and rehabilitation of housing and commercial property in Watertown, NY.

OUTSTANDING SUNY ALUMNUS AWARD - Given to graduates of the State University of New York who have distinguished themselves in their communities and professions.

PUBLIC SERVANT AWARD - Given by the Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment Community in Jefferson County.

PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIPS - Member of the NYS County Judges Association; Fellow of the NYS Bar Foundation; Former member of NYS Bar Association State Nominating Committee; Former member NYS Bar Association House of Delegates and of the Executive Committee of the Municipal Law Section of the NYS Bar Assoc.; Member of the Jefferson County Bar Association.
